Bio:

I wanted to join the town council to try to have a positive impact upon the lives of the people of Spilsby. I was honoured to become Mayor this year. Until recently I was a Squirrel leader with 2nd Spilsby. I have stayed on as an occasional  helper. As a Council we do a lot in the background and I will continue to do this.

Lee Marsh is the current Deputy Mayor for the Town Council. He has been a Councillor for Spilsby for 10 years. Lee is the Chair for the Personnel Committee, and represents the Council at the Twinning Group and Poorlands, as well as being involved in numerous other groups for the Council and in the town.

He is a Station Manager for Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue and started as a Retained Fire Fighter in the town in May 1991, becoming a Wholetime Fire Fighter in 2006.

Lee was born in Skegness and has lived in numerous towns and villages with the East Lindsey area until moving to Spilsby in 1990.

Lee was educated at Maypole School in Well near Alford, before attending Boston College to study Law, Sociology and Psychology.

He has received awards for his work with the Fire Fighters Charity, last year helping Lincolnshire raise the most of any county in events, and is now a Company Member for the charity. Lee has been recognised for his involvement in the areas he works in with Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue, in particular, the system that all Fire Fighters use to demonstrate their competence and Fire Investigation, which Lee is the Team Leader for the service and represents Lincolnshire at a regional level.

Lee is married and has three children. He is a massive motorsport fan and enjoys reading and local history.

Bio:

My name is Alan Day. I joined the Town Council as my wife ( who was already on the council) kept asking me to do odd jobs on behalf of the Town Council. However, I am enjoying being a Town Councillor and I am responsible for reporting issues in the cemetery, and help maintain the orchard and Toc H.

Additional Responsibilities: Footpaths, Trees

Outside Bodies: Grammar School Foundation, Good Neighbours

Bio:

I felt I had to contribute to the community where I was born and brought up.

When a vacancy arose on the council, I applied for it and was co-opted in 2018. I have been on different committees over the years, and am now the Trees and Footpaths Officer. As an Old Spilsbian, I was happy to become the Town Council's trustee on the Spilsby Grammar School Foundation. I attended the Franklin Hall AGM some years ago and am now a trustee and secretary of the hall committee.

I am determined to see that Spilsby isn't overlooked when it comes to getting infrastructure improved. Along with the rest of the Town Council, I want to see the town centre looking good again, finding out why buildings are empty, what is happening to them and what the plans are. I also want to let people know what we can and cannot do, and to ensure they know that we are doing all that we can, and keeping in contact with ELDC and LCC to make sure they are doing what they need to do.

I was motivated 35 years ago to become a councillor and serve my community and I am as enthusiastic now, as I was then.

Striving to be a voice for residents and constantly helping to improve the environment where they live, is my motivation.
