++ Mayor Tom Kemp impressed by commitment and behaviour of students at King Edward VI Academy ++

Staff and students at King Edward VI Academy in Spilsby, part of the David Ross Education Trust (DRET), were honoured to show the town’s mayor around their school recently.

Tom Kemp, Mayor of Spilsby, visited on 28th March and was given a tour of the school, including a tour of lessons. He was impressed with the behaviour and commitment of students.

Sue Jones, Executive Principal of King Edward VI Academy, said:

“We are really grateful to Mayor Tom Kemp for taking the time to visit us and learn more about our vision for King Edward VI Academy and the high standards we always strive for.

“Our students were fantastic ambassadors for our school – very polite and happy to engage in discussions about everything they are learning.

“The Mayor was very interested in the range of our curriculum and the fact that we focus on character development and transferrable life skills.

“We spoke about the high academic standards we have as well and the importance of a holistic education, and students becoming well-rounded members of society.

“We look forward to welcoming him back in the future.”
